Overview

Sunday Scrims is one of the weekly events presented by the Amateur Esports Organization.

In this event Overwatch teams sign up every week to compete in an organized competitive environment.

It doesn’t matter if this is your team’s first time competing in a tournament or if you’ve done so many you’ve lost the count. Sunday Scrims are available for any team; there are no rank restrictions.

We will group you up with three other teams of similar skill for you to compete against in your own single elimination tournament. Will you end up fighting for third place or will you dominate in both matches!? The tournament can last up to 4 hours.

Join our Discord server; our admins will be ready to support you if you have any questions before or during events. This is also the place to report your match results during the tournament. And while you’re at it, stick around and chat with our awesome community!

Sunday Scrims is available for all PC, PS4 and XB1 players of all skill.

Matches start on Sunday 18:00 PM CST on the North American region.

Matches start on Sunday 19:00 PM GMT on the European region.

All our event sign ups are open 48 hours prior to the start. Keep an eye on our website amateuresports.gg, Twitter and Discord for sign ups and updates!

Please be present on Discord with your team at least 60 minutes before the start of the event to check in.

1. Requirements

Player eligibility

In order to participate in AEO’s Sunday Scrims, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must have an active Battle.net, Playstation Network, Xbox Live account and Overwatch game license in good standing.
  • You must be placed for the 7th (or later) competitive season to be able to sign up.
  • You must have joined our Discord, discord.gg/aeo.
  • You must have an email verified Discord account.
  • If you are able to chat in our Discord, your account is verified.

Team eligibility

In order to participate during AEO’s Sunday Scrims, your team must meet the following requirements:

  • Teams are required to register with 6 to 8 players.
  • Only registered team members at sign up are allowed to play for a team during the event.
  • There are no sr restrictions to sign ups, but we recommend teams to stay within competitive restrictions.
  • Inappropriate team names will be changed in discussion or by AEO admins.

2. Match structure and rules

Map selection

The logistics for map selections for Sunday Scrims is as follows:

  • Map lists will be pre selected by the tournament admins.
  • Each match will have a separate map list.
  • Map lists will be posted at the time of sign ups.

Game settings

The game settings for Sunday Scrims is as follows:

  • Matches will be played on the “Competitive” ruleset.
  • Control maps will be set to “Score to Win: 2”.
  • Skins and Kill Cam are to be disabled.
  • Sprays, Emotes, and Golden Guns are allowed.

Map and match results

The match results for Sunday Scrims is as follows:

  • Each map played will result in a win, draw or loss.
  • The team with the most map wins after all maps are been played will be victorious.
  • If the match score ends up being a tie after 4 maps, a second Control map will be played to decide the winner.

Match pause

The rule for the match puase feature for Sunday Scrims is as follows:

  • The game host/moderator has to pause the game immediately when a team requests it in chat.
  • Each team is granted a total of 3 pauses during a match up. A single pause is allowed to last 5 minutes max.
  • When resuming the game from pause, both teams need to confirm in chat that they are ready to continue.
  • If total pause time of 5 minutes runs out, the game has to be resumed, no matter if the issue has been fixed or not.
  • The default pause hotkey is ‘Shift’ + ‘Control’ + ‘=’ on PC. On console, open your game options and set a pause hotkey under Controls > Miscellaneous > Moderator - Pause Game. We recommend using the left D-pad button.

Roster changes

The rules regarding roster changes for Sunday Scrims are as follows:

  • Changing your roster inbetween maps is allowed.
  • Changing your roster during a map is not allowed.
  • If a player drops due to a hardware/software failure, a different roster player is allowed to take his position during the map. The whole map has to be finished with this player.

3. Other

Code of Conduct

All players must agree to follow AEO’s code of conduct, which can be found on amateuresports.gg.

Technical

All players must install the latest game version in order to participate.

Teams and players are responsible for their own hardware and software.

Streaming

Matches will be streamed on the Amateur Esports Organization or Broadcast.gg Twitch channels.

Streaming matches on any other channel is only allowed with approval from AEO admins or listed Broadcast.gg staff.

Additional conditions

The format and rules of Sunday Scrims may be changed at any point, but will be announced before sign ups go live.

AEO admins reserves the right to disqualify players and teams from participation at any time.

Overview

Monday Madness is one of the weekly events presented by the Amateur Esports Organization. In this event Overwatch solo players sign up every week and compete in random teams for victory and glory.

Not everyone who wants to play in tournaments is already part of a team. This event is the perfect time to experience organised play and to get a feel how tournaments play out. This doesn’t mean you can’t sign up if you’re already on a team.

We will group all solo players into teams of six and together you will compete against other teams that also consist of six random players. The tournament format will be different depending on the amount of sign ups and will last between two and four hours.

Learn how to operate in a team, practice your shotcalling, or just have fun with the community!

Tuesday Tryouts is one of the weekly events presented by the Amateur Esports Organization. In this event Overwatch players solo, groups & teams sign up every week to compete in an organized competitive environment.

In this tournament everyone gets to play, it doesn’t matter if you don’t have a team, it doesn’t matter if you have a group of 4 players or a 8 man team! Like our other events, players of all SR’s are welcome and we will group you up with similar skilled teams.

If you sign up as solo player or group we will create a team for you, these will be announced at the start of the tournament. After that brackets will be made and you’ll compete for the number one spot. The tournament will last between two and four hours.

  • As a group you will get solo players or other groups assigned to form a team.
  • There are no sr restrictions to sign ups, but we recommend teams to stay within competitive restrictions.
  • Inappropriate team names will be changed in discussion or by AEO admins.
  • Team names for groups will be created by AEO admins but can be changed upon request!

Map selection

Maps will be selected by AEO admins prior to the event.

After each map, the loser may pick whether to attack or defend first on the next map (where applicable).

  • Map 1 and 5 for each match will be selected by AEO admins prior to the event.
  • The loser of the previous map selects the next map from the appropriate map pool.
  • The team that does not choose the map chooses sides for that map.
  • In the case of a map draw, the team that selected the previous map selects the next map.
  • In the case of Control Point maps, there is no side selection.
